The most common type of massage performed in the western world is known as Swedish massage. It is generally a relaxing massage which is made up on long, gently kneading strokes, with some light rhythmic tapping strokes on surface muscles.
Whilst Swedish massage will help with muscle tension, it is generally not the best technique for limited range of movement or pain relief. It is very effective for a relaxing experience to unwind muscle tension and relax the mind.
A full body massage will generally take about 90 minutes in including the hands, feet and face A full body 60 minute will generally cover arms, legs, stomach, upper chest with the main time spent upon the back. A 30 minute can be targeted at one particular area – most often back or legs depending upon a clients requirements.
